Harvey’s Bacon Poutine Burger is like Canada Day on a bun!!!!

Duuuude, does it even get any more Canadian than this!!!???? You’ve got a Made in Canada burger chain, serving Canadians from coast to coast since 1959, rolling out a limited edition homage to one of the greatest culinary creations in Canadian history. Shut the back door, eh?

Do not adjust your monitor settings, son! They really do take a flame-grilled Angus burger, stick some GFC–gravy, fries & curds–on it, and then top it anyway you want it (if that’s the way you need it)! This burger is on a journey to the centre of my piehole–don’t you stop believin’, bro!!!!

Of course, you can’t order an Ultimate Canadian Bacon Poutine Burger with a side salad. I’m pretty sure that’s illegal in at least two or three provinces. So I went all in and doubled my bet with a side of bacon poutine. Cuz why settle for just one poutine when you can have two, eh????

Wendy’s is selling its classic burgers for 3 bucks…so I bought 3 of em.

Now, you know me, I’m all about the Triple B–Burgers, Bacon & Beer. I’m also all about value, so when I saw Wendy’s was selling its classic single hamburger for just three bucks till the end of the month, I was like “Dude, three burgers for the price of one, bro!” Check out this tasty trio:


Of course, I know what you’re asking, could he really scarf down three Wendy’s hamburgers…and still have room for bacon poutine? You bet yer ass, buddy!


Now, it’s been a long time since I had poutine at Wendy’s–the last time I did, I think they put pulled pork and freakin’ onions on top. That was a total disasterpiece, dude! But I gotta say, this bacon poutine is pretty legit. You’ve got real-deal cheese curds, the sauce is on point, and I love that there’s some nice, big pieces of bacon on top, not just shitty bacon bits. This poutine might not be Hall of Fame-worthy, but it definitely gets my seal of approval. Now, let’s get back to the burgers…


Man, there is nothing wrong with this at all. You’ve got a nice, fresh beef patty, two slices of cheese, some lettuce, tomato and onion and just a little messiness from the ketchup and mayo. Sure, I normally eat my burgers between two bacon grilled cheese sandwiches, but for three pops a pop, I certainly ain’t complainin’, compadre!

POUTINE WEEK 2016: That bacon be takin’ dem blues away!

OK, so this one time, I was at this funky vegan joint, and I asked if they could put some bacon on my kale/quinoa salad. Those dudes looked at me like I was a zombie from Mars, bro. But c’mon man, everything’s better with bacon! Case in point: the bacon blues poutine at Let’s Be Frank.

This funky Chinatown joint is right next to the El Mocambo, which is supposed to be reopening sometime this year. And while it looks like a total dive bar, Frank’s got craft beers and vinyl records in ample supply. They were playing some funky southern rock from the 70’s when I got there, which kinda sounded like early Hank Jr.—y’know, back before he started hanging out with Guy Fieri’s homeboy Kid Rock.

And hey, I gotta give ‘em bonus points for presentation—that’s one fine-looking poutine. But while the bacon bits added a nice bite, I wasn’t a big fan of the spicy BBQ sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I would put that shit on some nice baby back ribs, but when it comes to poutine, spicy sauce does not compu-tine.

But hey, when they start doing shows at the ElMo again, I might stop in for a hot dog or something.
